woohoo!!!!!!!! singapore's nus team has finally made it to the summit of mt. everest!! i'm so proud of them. this proves singaporeans are capable of doing big things(even though i often doubt it myself).

i still remember when i was p4. we went on an excursion to the omni-theatre to watch singapore's first ascend to the summit. lying on the reclining chair, i made a childhood vow to conquer everest one day.

to be at the summit, to feel the world at your feet, to see mother nature in all it's splendor, and to literally be one step closer to god. these thoughts were what struck me as i watched edwin and khoo swee chiaow pant their way to the summit. i wanted to be there, and to see the sun rise from beneath the jagged horizon. to feel that nothing can stop you now, since the world is beneath your feet. to see the world at it's most beautiful, and to reaffirm your faith that there has to be a god to create something as spectacular as this.
